Integration

The system supports the integration of data from a number of data sources in order to compile Trade and Transaction reports. The system is typically configured to support data integration from four basic services:

• Deal Entry or Order Management System (OMS) (client specific deals)
• Market Data Service (instrument pricing information)
• Reference Data Service (supporting instrument information from IDC, Telekurs, Reuters, Bloomberg etc)
• Internal Data Service (internally held customer records and instrument data)

Depending on the precise requirement and data sources available it may be possible to assemble the required report using just one or two of the above services. Conversely, additional data integration services may be required to compile reports for complicated instruments or reporting requirements.

Trade/Transaction Report Assembly

The system is responsible for collating information from the requisite information sources in order to populate a given authorities’ transaction report or a market reporting service trade report.

When collating the data associated with a given Trade or Transaction, the system takes into account the source of data, instrument type, location, reporting venue, delivery format, presentation format etc and applies appropriate filtering and business logic to ensure that the correct report is created and delivered to the appropriate reporting service.

Presentation

The system supports a flexible mechanism for the presentation of Trade and Transaction reports, allowing a number of transports/formats to be utilised. For example, it is possible to create reports as simple files in CSV or XML formats and deliver them using FTP or to create dynamic outputs publishing FPML, FIX etc over TCP/IP connections.

Market Data Reporting Services: the system supports a number of presentation interfaces allowing Trade reports to be dynamically presented to the Trade Reporting Services using the required transport and messaging interfaces. A popular choice for publishing to Trade Reporting services is Fix 4.4.

Competent Authorities: the system is capable of generating and dispatching Transaction Reports immediately, but also provides the ability to batch reports into files which can be delivered when a given number of Transactions are available and/or at a pre-configured time period.
